The short version: Surplies has no accounts and no sign-ups, and we don't sell your information. We only collect what you choose to send through the contact form. When you click a product link, the retailer (such as Amazon) may use cookies to track the purchase so we can earn a commission.
This Privacy Policy explains how Surplies ("Surplies," "we," "us") handles information when you visit surplies.ai (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. We use this only to read and reply to you.
Information collected automatically. The Site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like most websites, Cloudflare may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the Site secure and running smoothly. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
We do not require accounts, and we do not collect payment information. All purchases happen on the retailer's own website.
Cookies and affiliate links
The Site itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. However, many links on the Site are affiliate links. When you click one and visit a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer or its affiliate network may place cookies on your device to record that you came from Surplies. This lets them pay us a small commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.
Those cookies are controlled by the retailer and governed by its own privacy policy, for example the Amazon Privacy Notice. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Third-party services we use
- Cloudflare hosts and protects the Site.
- Formspree delivers messages sent through our contact form to us.
- Google Fonts provides the Site's fonts. Your browser connects to Google to load them, which shares your IP address with Google.
- Open Library provides some book cover images.
- Amazon Associates and Rakuten Advertising are the affiliate programs behind our product links.
Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy.
How we use information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form messages only as long as needed to respond and for our reasonable records. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access or delete any personal information you've sent us by reaching out through our contact form. Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA/CPRA, you may have additional rights to know, correct or delete your information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
The Site links to retailers and other websites we don't control. We're not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please review their policies when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
